The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain is now hiring qualified teachers and teaching associates to lead our preschool and infant/toddler classes in our high-quality state licensed Center Based Childcare and Preschool Program.

Job Summary of Essential Functions A caregiver who meets the qualifications specified in Vermont regulations and the requirements of the CBCCPPs job description for teaching associate.

Teaching associates will provide direct supervision of the children.

Job Tasks/Duties:

Responsible for the implementation of the program curriculum.

May be asked to assist with creation of program curriculum.

Carries out classroom procedures including diapering, toileting, and discipline as per state regulations for a CBCCPP facility.

Facilitates developmentally appropriate organized activities, centers, and free play.

Assists with parent communication at the start and close of each day about their childs routine, meals, toileting, and napping

.May be required to assist with Kids Night Out or other evening childcare event.

Education and or Experience: Minimum Age: 20

Minimum Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Or, at least 21 college credits with an early childhood or school age focus

Minimum Experience: One year working with groups of children from grade 3 or younger

Annual Professional Development Requirement:

Minimum of 12 (clock) hours of Professional Development Activities which may be applied toward meeting the Assistant Directors Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP), as defined by the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, the Local Standards Board, or the Professional Standards Board of the Department of EducationRequired to submit a record check authorization form prior to working with children in the CBCCPP.

May be required to submit to fingerprinting at a location designated by the CDD after having received the finger printing authorization certificate by the CDD.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to remain calm in stressful, one-on-one situations with upset children.Must be able to stand for long periods, as well as kneel, sit, or otherwise interact with children at the childs eye level.Must be able to work outside in winter.
