MS Hope for a Cure’s mission is to raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and to support those individuals and their families living with MS until a cure is found. We are a unique and dynamic 2-person not-for-profit organization. We accomplish more than many larger organizations by leveraging relationships with skilled board members, consultants and other MS organizations. MS Hope was founded in 2007 and since inception has raised over $8.4 million. In turn, we have funded ninety-five grants to support critical research, personnel and programs.


MS Hope is seeking a Senior-level individual who likes variety and is excited by the opportunities and the wide range of responsibilities that comes with a 2-person operation. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded, a self-starter, highly organized, and have a diverse skill set.


Event Planner

Coordinate and implement event logistics
Oversee creation of marketing materials including invitations, posters, press kits, and all event related materials, and ensure graphic designer meets deadlines
Accurately communicate organization’s messaging and execute marketing strategies
Recruit participants, volunteers, partners and sponsors for special events
Organize and execute silent, live, and online auctions, including soliciting items, organizing presentations, and tracking donors, items and recipients
Write and consistently post content on social media
Update and maintain event information on MS Hope website

Relationship Manager
Maintain a comprehensive donor database, and generate meaningful reports to aid in identifying new prospects, retaining donors, and managing event attendees
Partner with local MS Centers for fundraising and program assistance
Develop and cultivate relationships with pharmaceutical representatives, MS Center staff, and other MS organizations to expand our outreach
Manage consultants and provide them with the necessary data and information

Grant Administrator
Develop, distribute and manage grant applications
Collect and compile documentation from grantees
Liaise with grant applicants before, during and after grant distribution


Ability to communicate effectively and openly (verbal and written)
Self-motivated, resourceful, highly organized, team player. Attention to detail is a must.
Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends near event time
Fluency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
Experience in DonorPerfect, QuickBooks or Constant Contact is strongly preferred
Graphic design experience using software such as Adobe Acrobat is a plus
Limited travel also required

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or higher
7 or more years in a professional role. Experience in event planning, nonprofit fundraising, grant management and/or relationship management is highly desired

Job Type:

Part-Time, 3 days a week but with increased hours prior to our two events

Job Location:

Burlington, VT or New York, NY strongly preferred, but would consider a remote applicant if he/she were the perfect fit
