Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the agency in fulfilling its mission, improving and expanding its services and to provide day to day management of its operations. Candidates should have experience in supervision, fund raising, budget creation/management and the ability to present a positive image of the agency. The right candidate will have the ability to problem solve and deal with many types of people in diverse situations. Previous animal welfare experience a plus. This position is full time and requires occasional evening or weekend work. The job requires public speaking, responding to media and working with law enforcement, human service agencies and area veterinarians. Founded in 1958, the Rutland County Humane Society serves Rutland County Vermont, a rural area with a population of about 60,000. We operate an open admission companion animal shelter receiving about 1,400 animals annually. Community programs include humane education and pet population control. RCHS also receives and responds to animal abuse complaints. RCHS is an equal-opportunity employer.
